In last month’s DA Update, we reported that the Ministries of Conservation and Fisheries are in the process of setting up a Ministerial Advisory Committee, (MAC), the purpose of which is to “help shape the proposals, facilitate engagement with our Treaty Partners and stakeholders, and provide advice and report to the three Ministers – Environment, Conservation & Fisheries.”
Nominations for the positions on this, the ‘Sea Change Ministerial Advisory Committee’, closed on March 25th.
We are still awaiting an announcement on who has been appointed. (See our April update for more information about the committee).
Auckland Council has also set a committee to deal with Sea Change - the ‘SeaChange Political Reference Group’. For the make-up of this committee, please see a copy of the April 30 agenda below.
This meeting was not open to the public, so we were unable to attend as observers.
The next ordinary meeting of the Hauraki Gulf Forum is scheduled for Monday, May 20th. This to be held in Reception Lounge, Level 2, Auckland Town Hall, 301-305 Queen Street, Auckland. The public can attend.
