Where do the political parties stand?

The 2026 General Election will determine not only who governs New Zealand, but the direction our country takes on some fundamental questions about democracy, equality before the law and the way we are governed.

During the election campaign, political parties will make hundreds of policy announcements and election promises. It can be difficult to keep track of what has actually been promised — and what each party intends to do if elected.
