Electoral (Entrenchment of Māori Seats) Amendment Bill

The purpose of the bill is to entrench the provisions of the Electoral Act 1993 that relate to the Māori electorates. It is currently before the Maori Affairs committee.

Many thanks to all who have made submissions on the bill. These are due to be published on the Parliament website www.parliament.nz

If you are quick, there may still be time to request the opportunity to present an oral submission in support of your written submission. If you decide to do so, please contact the Committee Secretariat,  [email protected] Or phone: 04 817 9520

After the committee has considered all public submissions and official advice, they’ll share their findings and recommendations with Parliament in a report.
